Happy National Awakeners Day!

We celebrated one of the brightest holidays – the day when we honor the people who ignite the spark of knowledge, spirituality and kindness. This is a day when we look back to our roots and forward to the future with gratitude and inspiration.

Students from grades 1 to 4 recalled the names of the great awakeners of the past – Paisii, Sophrony, Botev, Levski… People who, with word, deed and courage, have built the path of the Bulgarian spirit and have left us a legacy that still inspires us to be better, more awake and braver today.

The children also reflected on what it means to be an awakener in our days. Together we discovered that awakening is not only in history – it is alive and well today. We noted examples of modern awakeners: athletes who teach discipline, perseverance and will; young scientists and researchers who change the world with knowledge and discoveries; creators and artists who preserve our culture and create new horizons for the imagination and spirit.

We have become convinced that an enlightener is anyone who inspires, teaches, imparts knowledge, supports, does good and shows that change begins with ourselves. An enlightener is someone who makes the world brighter with personal example, with curiosity for knowledge and with care for others.

We are proud of our students – with their ideas, enthusiasm, desire to learn and their pure belief that kindness and knowledge can change the world. Let us continue to grow awake, brave and inspired – together. Because each of us can be an enlightener.

Happy holiday to all enlighteners – from the past, today and tomorrow!
